Funny to me that a government created problem - workers locked into jobs because health insurance is employer supplied - want the government to step in to fix the problem.

The real answer is to get the government out of health care. The requirement that employers supply health care insurance to employees is the reason that people get stuck in a job, do not have portable, privately owned insurance in the first place. Govt also mandates that we all have policies that contain things that many of us do not want.

There is no competition. There is no skin in the game for millions of workers with employer supplied benefits. They have little in the way of cost and use far too much health care. It's like giving everyone a free pass to the grocery store and wondering why all the expensive stuff flies off the shelves. Health care is no different.
