AARP Supplemental Medical Plan NV?

Hello. Has anyone heard of this or could shed light on what this is? 63 yr old Male who has been blind all his life showed me this as his supplemental coverage. He's had A&B since 1987, lives in NJ and has never lived in Nevada. TY

Are you saying he has had a Medigap plan for 32 years issued to him in a state where he never lived?

If so, what are you and he hoping to accomplish?

Well it is probably a pre-standardized plan. Plans were standardized in 1992. A 2014 study found that pre-standardized plans represented 4% of the total Medigap plans.

My guess is that if they bought the plan in NJ in 1987 it was prior to the standardized plans that started in 1992. Your client being under 65 was not able to get an underwritten application, but might be able to switch to a modern plan within AARP but this would not get you commission. You will have to wait till he turns 65 for his next open enrollment.
