Can someone tell me what happens if someone signs up for the AARP Medsupp but then stops paying their AARP dues (but continues to pay the insurance premium)?

You only need to be an AARP member to enroll. No need to maintain membership.

It is my understanding that if you cancel your AARP membership you will lose the additional benefits like silver sneakers and nurses helpline.

You also wont get a cool red card, a monthly magazine, or mail daily asking you to contribute to their advocacy

I worked for them for almost 5 years. Someone does not need to be a member of AARP in order to KEEP their insurance. They only need an active membership to get the insurance or if they want to make a change to their plan.
