Aetna/Coventry...dejavu All Over Again

Notice in the email that Aetna commissions will be paid by Coventry in 2016. Why do I have the feeling that I won't see any commissions until March or April?

Coventry usually pays real quick. But on AEP they pay middle or end of Jan

Well, they're not great on enrollments. They've only processed 1 out of 5 of all the Aetna apps that I've sent in during AEP.

Ok, I've pieced this together on my own over the last 2 weeks.

All Florida Aetna HMO's are being moved to Coventry. Never was told before AEP that we had to put our Coventry writing number on Aetna apps along with NPN. Never was told before AEP that there is a special fax number for Florida apps.

I went to pre-AEP meeting, and I read all emails. I don't remember being updated on these major changes. The first inkling was an email 2 weeks before the end of AEP.

My roster on Producer World is still showing my entire book being terminated, and less than half of what I've turned in for AEP is showing on Coventry, which is where I now must go to see my Aetna book.

I have a feeling that in 2017 everything will convert to a Coventry plan in Florida, no more Aetna, and will probably have to take new apps from all my clients.

Aetna sent a letter to all of my terminated clients in Lee County letting them know that their 'renewed' plan would have $0 premium and a small increase in specialist visit copays. This after sending a termination letter in September

That generated a few calls and emails to me about why I suggested switching plans since they were happy with their Aetna plan, along with some veiled comments about me doing it because I made more money that way.

My Aetna rep's reaction? 'Thanks, we are working on fixing that'. Sure you are, buddy.

If you are certified to sell for Coventry it is clearly stated in the training and on the website the fax number for the territories that enrollment is done.

These are Aetna plans, not Coventry plans.

Yes, and we were specifically told in pre-AEP meeting that our Lee county ppl would be automatically moved to the new HMO. Fortunately, after everything started hitting the fan, I emailed my rep to confirm. He replied, "No, you have to get a new application". I haven't had a call yet about the letter. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be waiting for the phone to ring. What a mess!
