Cigna Please Read: Important Notice About Delay in Subsidy Application Submissions

This may not be relevant or maybe its old news, just got this email from Cigna.

Dear Valued Broker​

Please be advised that Cigna Individual and Family Plans has decided to ​

delay utilizing the broker portal for direct subsidy application enrollment ​

for October. We have decided on this due to changes that the Center of​

Medicare and Medicaid Services is implementing regarding the premium​

tax credit functionality and testing. We want to make sure that your ​

Cigna experience, as well as that of the customer, is a smooth and positive ​

one.​

What this means is that you will not be able to sell and submit a 2014​

subsidized plan in October using our broker portal. ​

You will still be able to:​

- Quote all of our Cigna Individual and Family Plans for 2014​

- Compare plans that Cigna is offering​

- Sell a nonsubsidized plan for 2014​

- Quote, compare and sell 2013 plans​

You will be able to work with your customers who are subsidy eligible​

and prepare them to apply in November. As you are quoting, please​

keep in mind that if you do not see the documents you need, such as ​

Summary of Benefits, Outlines of Coverage etc., please check ​

the Resource Center.​

Smart move for Cigna to take. Why let govt IT tech problems translate into poor PR for the carrier? It's also an indication that this will take a month for the govt to fix, and the carriers know it.
