Probably really late to the party on this one here....

A few weeks ago, I did an e-app and noticed the new platform. Tried to use it, but ran into a bug (couldn't edit something), and switched back to their old e-app platform.

Tried the new e-app platform this morning - and they have a security question signature now! I know I know... old news, Scott - keep up with the times....

But, I didn't know it - and I had prepped the applicant for a voice signature - then got to the final page and saw security question signature - and that's pretty exciting. I never really liked their version of the voice signature...

(Does anyone know if the security question signature is available for underwritten? The one I did today was T65 open enrollment).

I used their new e app last week, and going into it I didnt realize there had been a change. Im sure I sounded like a new agent on the phone, I didnt know what expectations to set.

Did you use the security question signature?

Question for you guys. I used to be a big CLI/ACI (aetna) producer. I still have almost 200 clients with them and I haven't written more than 4-5 apps in the last 4 years with them. Anyway, when Aetna took them over their phone interviews got INSANE. 40-50 minutes for a couple was not uncommon, asking all this crazy Sh*t, not on the application that I had no way to screen for. Asking about the specialist they saw 18 months ago 1 time for a toenail infection it was soo messed up I threw them in the trash.

Has their phone interview improved? I can't stand writing for companies that don't give me the tools to properly screen an applicant.

I don't do a lot underwritten - mostly T65.
I did an underwritten on 8/22 and the interview was pretty smooth - maybe 10 minutes? But that's a small sample...

The last really bad one that stands out in my memory was during AEP last year, my client (who I was switching from mapd to med supp) almost yelled at the interviewer for seemingly endless questions, followed up with clarifying questions.

I get it and all - they need to underwrite, but I agree with you - it should not be a long process.

I wrote 5 CLI/Aetna's this week. They are between 10-14 minutes if proposed insureds do not see a specialist and meds are standard (bp/cholesterol/acid reflux etc). If they see a specialist, or Heaven forbid, more than one specialist... the interview gets pretty lengthy and the barrage of questions begins.

Yikes! So you figured out the key. If they haven't seen any specialists, then it's plausible to consider Aetna lol. If I run across a super healthy person with no specialists I might try again. Thanks for the input!
I've also noticed problems with their portal recently too. The last 4-5 months, its super slow. I've tried multiple browsers to make sure it wasn't just me, same problem. Login just fine, but when I try to access my book, it just lags out and takes anywhere from 15secs- 10 minutes to actually load.

Loading 4,000 clients takes time!!
