Agency Fees

I am mostly a P&C agency and I have questions about how other agents handle agency fees. If customer comes in with check made out to company do you still make them pay your agency/in office payment fee? If customer wants to pay with debit/credit to pay insurance do you charge the payment and fee and the do an agency sweep or do you just do the agency fee and eat the convenience fee(simply easier payments)? For instance, had a customer who wanted to pay with cc. With downpay and agency fee it was over $300 so instead of 6.95 convenience fee it's 15.95. So do you pay the 275 direct to company then charge $25 agent fee on sep and absorb the fee?

Just curious how others handle this situation
