Man - 2 minutes on the Search feature looking at my posts would cause peeps to drink.

    I did AHIP in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 - just because.

I hate selling insurance - that is why I am now a National Recruiter. But - I also have a hierarchy and have to have AHIP to receive my over-rides.

I have done a lot in the business. The best is yet to come.

Good news on the Wellcare certification front-the exam is much easier this year, I did the training and exam (passedwith 92%) within 40 minutes so have everything finished for all of my companies for 2020-you can download the entire training document at the end so anything you need is right there to search.

I'll say this about the 2020 AHIP....it's total BS. I'm almost convinced they start you off with 5 missed questions before you answer the first question.

Another thing...they have at least one question on the test related to first year commissions on MAPD. They state that if someone new to Medicare buys a MAPD policy effective August 1st, that the agent gets first year commission from August thru Dec. and then renewals starting in January. That is not how Humana and UHC pay. They pay 12 months of first year commissions and then start renewals in August of the following year.

Check out your statement again. You’ll see they do pay it that way

Not with me they don’t. If it’s a July first effective date I’ll get July thru Dec renewal at first. A few weeks later i’ll get paid the annual true-up commission. Most of what I write is T65’s and that’s how I’m paid with UHC and Humana.

Looking at a case now on Humana commission. I wrote a lady a MAPD. July 1st effective date. New to Medicare. I got $120.50 on June 5th commission statement.

Then on the latest commission statement of July 10th I received $361.50 on the same case. Listed as Medicare 2nd half first year commission.

    Add the $120.50, plus the $361.50, that’s $482.00.

The question on the AHIP test is wrong.

UHC pays me the same way. I see why UHC did away with the AHIP requirement.

Correct. But you’ll notice in January that you’ll get $20.08 per month

With Humana yes. With UHC no. UHC starts paying monthly renewals in the 13th month.
