2017 we planned on Playa Del Carmen---and the State Dept put a hold on travel to QR
So we chose a new destination---guess where? Wait for it..............
PUERTO RICO!!!
So we ended up in SW FL---like $600 in change./cancellation fees later!
So being more circumspect this year. One thing I can NOT seem to find is insurance for the flight
They cover $100,000 to bring my dead body back to the US; or like $1000 for lost luggage (I dont have socks worth that much) but they wont cover ANY reason to cancel flights
Hurricane, Stock market, political upheaval who the hell knows?
