We had a agent leave and have clients wanting to change to a new agent.
Has anyone been successful in changing AOR during mid year?
If a carrier would not do this could this be done by calling health care. gov?

For the carrier to change AOR Helathcare.gov is not the place... Got to contact the carrier, some will some will not. BUT some carriers who do it will cause commissions to be delayed at least a month. 1st month they show as a + and a - then the next month (hopefully) they catch up after the AOR change is applied..

So if you call health care.gov you don't think they will go in and change agent of record?

The gov't owns that client. Until AOR's can be changed at HC.gov with just an edit section, agents books of exchange business are near worthless.

But, it was a nice try

Only if you know the answer to the "secret question" used during the eligibility process. Then you'll find that they have no record of that agent because he/she was stripped. The only way to get around this is to re-write or "active renew" the desired clients during the next Open Enrollment.

only way to keep your on-exchange book is to break the law
