Are We Going to Fight Back or Roll Over?

If I wasn't already out the thought of an arbitrary 90 day stay in the 'penalty box' for any imagined offense would make me out. What a freaking witch hunt, I want no part of it after this year:

Broker Conduct Enforcement
In the proposed 2017 Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters, CMS proposes immediate temporary suspension of a broker in the case of suspected fraud or abusive conduct for up to 90 days.

"Suspected Fraud or Abusive Conduct" means that in CMS's eyes, we're guilty of any and all allegations, unless we can prove our innocence. It sounds like ISIS is running the agency now. After 90 days what happens?

We are the middle man. We don't own the product or anything... So it's time to pack and rethink our strategies or maybe go on Shark Tank ???

All it will take will be one phone call from either a consumer or insurance company about something that didn't go as planned to cast this shadow over an honest agent and eliminate income for the year in the middle of OEP.

I've worked too hard over the past 9 years to allow myself to ever be put in that position, and, as Mark Cuban would probably say, 'for those reasons, I am OUT'

I only got involved this year as I was running across people who needed a plan. Seemed like a natural service as I am focused on MA/MS plans. Will have to rethink for next year.

Remember the people that want the agents at 0% they already have their insurance in place for themselves and their families.
To sell at 0% commission is a vote for a communist society. When the politicians don't have their own insurance in place then they will do something. As far as I can tell all of the politicians running for office or in office already have health insurance in place.
The bean counters making these decisions already are covered. So please don't sell products at a zero Commission level. That is my two cents

You cannot make a company employ you. AGLA just laid off all of their agents. Is the situation any different? Maybe as far as the reason why but in the end it is a business decision pure and simple. The worst thing that could happen is the government would mandate that a certain commission has to be paid on products because that is a knife that can cut both ways and sounds a lot like socialism.

The government's decision is fair and not a knife like.It is more of a community help by working at 0% commission . For one it may be Okay but for many it will simply make their lives complicated.

When did the government ever do anything fair? Do you speak English?
