Bariatric Surgery Coverage in Georgia

My Aetna plan shows that Bariatric surgery is not covered so I am researching other plans. However, in researching other insurance companies and their plans, it seems that the surgery is not covered at all in this state. Is this true? I don't want to cancel one insurance policy and start paying another if it's not going to cover the procedure that I need covered. I would appreciate any insight/knowledge regarding this matter!

Bariatric surgery is covered under some group (employer) plans. I am not aware of any individual plans that cover it.

You should ask the experts at hc.gov to guide you in finding out if such a plan does exist.

Thank you for taking the time to answer this. I just went through the application process on hc.gov and of the choices I was given, none of them cover bariatric surgery. I appreciate your assistance with this.
