New agent, have never sold a policy and am looking at a career change, and am drawn to the senior market. I feel it would be better to start as a captive and am looking for names of companies to look at and why you like them.

Going to be a senior myself in 8 years, and have always liked working with senior clients in the mortgage biz. Would like to be able to offer them good products that they need.

Don't go captive, that's my advice. Hopefully at your age (have money saved up) you could take a couple lean years starting out independent and you will be better off in the end.

don't go captive, with med supps, there are no differences in plans other than price. Its best to offer clients the best rate

Find an IMO/FMO/MGA that can get you started with training/info on prospecting, appointment setting, presenting, closing, and agency management. Do all of that as an indy.
