Best Health Insurance Broker?

They all have external and internal wholesalers, use them for information and assistance. That's what they're there for, and best of luck!

go direct, dont use mga's... or "brokers"... go direct... screw the middle man

Sometimes agents can get a higher contract through a GA/MGA versus going direct and in many cases not forfeit the perks (i.e. trips, bonuses, etc.).

I definitely agree that all agents should do their due diligence and not get ripped of. This includes getting an upfront release.

If I were starting fresh I would look for an agency that offers training, leads and numerous carriers. There is at least one agency in Atlanta that fits that bill . . . could be more, but one that I do know.

I would never work for them beyond 12 - 18 months. Just long enough to learn the business and get my footing.

There is plenty of time to go independent and escape the shackles of a GA.

You should use a local GA (General Agent) that will release you when/if you wish to move on. Going direct will have you as earned and listless. Going thru a large out of state MGA (Health Choice One) is not necessary.

The local GA will know your local market niches where others wont.
