I will be in need of finding a new individual health insurance plan for myself once my Cobra expires. I am single, female, and in my 50's and live in TX. Any suggestions from those of you who are very familiar with the different insurance companies? Also, would like to know if I purchase insurance before my Cobra expires, will that keep me from having to worry about possibly being denied or rated up for any pre-existing conditions?

Now she's done it. Asked for insurance agents to contact her.

How long before this thread gets to be 10 pages.

I suggest you speak with a couple of local agents.

I'm not sure she's gonna get a lot of responses for what I feel's gonna end up being a conversion plan.

You can still be denied or rated or ridered on conditions.

Guaranteed acceptance is only for children at this time.

Sounds like a HIPAA to me.

She wouldn't qualify for a HIPAA plan by exhausting COBRA? I believe she would.

Are you sure about this? So, am I to understand that even if I purchase insurance while I currently have Cobra coverage, any pre-exiisting conditions will not be waived?
