Hi,
I've been an insurance agent for a year and I want to purshase a successful book of business. I would prefer to buy it from someone who is retiring.
1. How do I find it? I thought I should get a list of agencies in my area and call them up. I'm sure I can get that listing from a search engine too, but I'm not sure how. I tried googling it and didn't find anything substantial.
2. I am sure there are also warm leads on the internet. How do I find listings of people who are selling their book of business?
3. Are there any consultants or companies who do this? And if so, how much do they charge? And where do I find them?

Contact your DOI, get a list of agents contracted with the companies you would like to have in your agency. Start with a post card. Few life agents actually really retire, good luck!

If you talking about life ins book for sale I never heard of it. Usually its P&C agency for sale or sometime health accounts.

You may look at agencyequity.com for a list of books for sale.
