California Background Check

Hi Guys,

I'm new on this forum and in the process of studying for my California life and health license exam online and my question is:

Should I be concerned with being sued by state agencies in the past for previous business activity which was allegedly consumer fraud?

I want to be transparent on my application so any feedback would be valuable.

Thanks

Yes. That is a key question that will not only show up in your licensing background check, but a key question that will be asked by EVERY insurance company that you want to be appointed to sell their products. It's also a question for securities licensing in section 14 of the U-4.

Now, there's a difference between having been sued and having been convicted or found guilty of fraud.

If these things are pending, then you will need to provide a lot of information and expect that you might not be able to sell until the case is resolved.

If it is closed, then read the question carefully and provide details if the question warrants it.
