California L&H Prelicensing Online Providers

Hello,

A little background and such. I work for a moderately large employee benefits consulting company and I have a degree in nothing HR related.

I've been working for this company for a few years on the administrative end of things and I'd like to go on over and work with our Health & Welfare department.

I've known that all their lower level associates must get their Insurance L&H license (California) and I'd like to get this on my own to try to show them just how interested I am.

I have certain advantages in that I am surrounded by people who will have real world applicable information for me if I ask but not many people who have taken this license exam in quite a while.

I don't know if the online stuff is updated annually, if the test exams are applicable or similar, if the materials are outdated, if certain providers have better presentation or structure.

In any event, I was wondering if anyone has experience with a good online prelicense provider for California L&H.

On a side note, if anyone has any usable discount codes, that would be appreciated as well as I'm paying for this out of my pocket as opposed to people in their group who have it reimbursed.

Thank you.

In addition to your licensing requirements, you may also want to check out one of these two designations:

REBC - from The American College:
Academics - Insurance Education - REBC - Employee Benefits - The American College

CEBS - from International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans:
About the Program

The designations from The American College should count towards any corporate "educational reimbursement" program as it is a regionally accredited university. I doubt I could say the same about the CEBS program.

Actually, I already have the GBA1 book and Handbook of Employee Benefits so I can get my GBA certification on my way to the CEBS designation.

I figured... get license... and focus on GBA/CEBS designation. I have never seen the REBC one, is it a very recognized designation?

Strongly recommend . I've recommended them for years (including my then 18 yr. old son).

Which package did he buy? Is the prelicensing and online exam prep enough? Considering their other offerings I wouldn't need a glossary or hard text.

Would you say that's fair?

This was 8 years ago before online courses (52 hour bullshit) was required. So he did it F2F.

But you are correct. You won't need anything other than the hours and online prep.

I used prelicensetraining.com and passed first try. I also heard 52 hours one is good too.

Thanks! However, our 52hour.com website has been transitioned over to TesTeachers Online. The content is the same, we just wanted to have our students all on one website. As stated in previous response we do offer everything a student needs to pass their state exams.

Our courses are available at www.testeachersonline.com or any of our student specialist can be reached at 1-888-422-7714. We are open Monday - Friday 6am to 8pm PST and Saturday/Sunday 9am to 5pm PST.
