Check your state's licensing laws and I bet you'll find that you cannot pay "rewards," commissions, finders' fees or any other type of remuneration (no matter how you spin it) to unlicensed parties who even remotely help get you insurance customers.

You can give gifts to people for referrals as long as it is not contingent upon making a sale. You can also give small gifts to prospects under the same conditions.. Some state limit the value of the gift..

That is funny. However, there may be laws addressing this specific type of gift.
