Canceled Resident License. Notify Other 42 States, or Wait for them to Cancel?

I went ahead and canceled my resident license. Still licensed in 42 other states. Today I got a letter from Alabama DOI saying if I don't return my license within 10 days they will administratively revoke it. If you were in my shoes, would you just let that happen for each state, or contact each state individually? I doubt I will ever sell insurance again, possibly health but almost certainly not P&C. I guess it's laziness, not wanting to notify each state, but what a pain in the neck since it can't be done online at all.

I let a non-resident Life and Health license for PA just expire, then two years later I wanted to renew it but had to pay extra fees to "reinstate" and do extra paper work and wait longer on it.
