It is just going to spread like wildfire. Of course my view is jaundiced because I live in a state that has already done it- but just sayin, coming to your neighborhood soon, very soon. They are talking about it in CA and now Mass. Don't fool yourself into thinking that this is just a review process to see if there are reasonable grounds for raising the rates. Those days are over and if your state never had them, you never will. We are just moving right straight on to what the commissariat things is the right cost of premium for folks and to demonstrate that they are holding costs down.

In the last couple years some among us have focused on reading the fine print of the various bills and doing celebratory dance about the fact that commissions are not prohibited as we go forward. The real issue though is, and will continue to be, what is the margin that carriers are going to be allowed and what effect will that have on commissions versus carriers focusing on moving sales through other channels.

Forget all that claims loss payout ratio stuff. That is all history now or will be by the end of the year. The commies know what the right number is and everything just gets backed into that number. As Obama and Hillary both said "we are just going to tell the carriers what the premiums will be." Well, here we are, or coming soon to your area.

Dont ask how that holds rising costs down throughout the supply chain. They dont think on that level. If you have convinced yourself that insurance carriers are the demons then those are the dragons to be slain. And truthfully, it might work for three or four months anyway. Then what?
