Commercial Line Applications and Certificates Help.

Hi Everyone,

I am a new P&C Agent trying to learn Commercial Line application for restaurant, medical offices, contractors(builder's risk/owner's interest),and COI and binders. It is confusing for me when I fill out these forms. Can anyone teach me how to fill them out or suggest any hand books for these acord forms.

Because it is really confusing for a new agent like me to fill in the blank.

Hope anyone would help me through.

All I can suggest to you is that you fill out the forms as best as you can and if there is something you don't know about the client or prospect's business, ask him.

Other than that, like anybody else who was once "new" at something, proficiency comes with experience.

The learning experience will be easier, and the profits will be greater if you choose a niche as early as possible.

As far as learning how to fill out the acords, you should have someone at your agency guiding you. Also, the wholesalers you are sending them to should be giving you pointers too.

Reach out to the carrier(s) that you intend on working with on the niche classes you list. It is possible that they will have consolidated applications which should give you a good idea as to what needs to be provided to underwriting. Your choice if you want to complete their app or map the information over to the acords.
