Was looking over Todays Options MA plan commissions and found that there is up to 75% commish reduction in certain counties.

Why is this and is this common practice for carriers?

They did this to us last year in many counties. It cost me about $5,000 in commissions and qualifying for their top agent trip to Cabo.

This year, the reduction is limited on a few counties unless they add to the list later (like last year).

By reducing commission, agents don't bother selling and if there is no business, doctors don't get deemed. This is really a form of cherry picking.

That's a good way to put it, Rick. Are there any other carriers who do this?
