Commissions Timeframe During AEP

First year of doing MA/MAPD I am set up with most of the major carriers, my question is this, once AEP starts how long does it take to start getting paid your commissions? I know normally, on average, you receive the first half in about a week or so and then about three weeks after that you get the second half. How much longer does the window go during AEP?

This is a great community and I have learned a lot and hopefully I will be able to contribute soon.

CMS does not allow for commissions on 1/1/18 effective dates to paid until January.

We have seen payments start to come through as early as 1/15/ to as late as March in "slow as molasses situations".

A friend whose been doing this for about 10 years said any business written during AEP won't get paid till Jan or Feb of next yr regardless if it's t-65.
Did he misinform me? It didn't make sense to me.
