A former client of mine (2 person company - 1 person is Medicare eligible, and the other has Diabetes) is looking for group health insurance, and mentioned Companion Life and Cynergy Health.

I know about Cynergy Health. Mini Med Plan.

What about Companion Life for small group health coverage?

I'd ask how Companion came into the mix? I've HEARD of them, mainly because they were on a list of carriers HCO offered appointments with for ind business.

I believe Companion is the underlying company writing the mini med? At least that is how the ad on tv came across.

Companion is a A+, South Carolina company, owned by SC Blues. The do group, trust, self-funding, agg only, and captive self-funding. Good little company.
