Company Side Vs. Agency Side

I've been working at an small Georgia agency for about three years. Our book is around 2 mil, 60% commercial/40% personal. I've got a BSBA in Business from UGA and have a chance to work with a company in Atlanta. The problem is, I've got a chance to move up to president of the agency when my boss retires/slows down in about a year.

The company offers a competitive salary, health, vision, dental, 401(k) 5% match, STD & LTD, Life Ins, etc.

Of course, with the agency, my salary reflects how hard I work. I'll be my own boss and have the flexibility to make my own decisions.

So...my question is... Would I be crazy to pass up the opportunity with the company?

Thank you all!

If staying in the small agency means you will take over and have control of your future stay there! Working for a company means you never really control your own destiny. You can always turn the small agency into a big one in the future. Roll Tide by the way!
