I'm trying to figure out why the construction type on my insured's Certificates of Occupany (NYC, Apartment Buildings) seem to vary between 1B and 2A. They are constructed in the same exact manner, with the same materials. The only difference I can notice is that their buildings over 7 stories are 1B and the ones that are 6 and under are 2B. Perhaps this has something to do with NYC building code and not the actual construction type.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much!
