Constructive criticism about the forum

back to being constructive.......
what i wish is that there was some impartial INFORMED mediation on the forum. moonlight margaritas could be a douche-bag or some sort of saviour, protecting the innocent from harm, much like robin hood. i don't know. then we have insurance benefit group attacking health agent every 3 lines... again,.. maybe he knows something i don't, maybe he's an a$$hole. again... i don't know.

:err:
as a health ins. newbie (which i most definitely am, i have worked in the p & c business for about 5 years, but no health) i visit the forum to learn, and find that there are two conflicting opinions, backed by cited facts, on almost every thread. obviously very confusing.

There is always two conflicting viewpoints. Look at our politicians for starters. One wants war as a way to peace and the other just wants peace.

I have enough to do taking care of myself. If people aren't capable of making a contribution, they should go away.

Some of us are willing to put our personal information out there. Others prefer to hide in the bushes like IBG - if you want to decide on who's credible and who's not you'll have to ask yourself if you put any stock in some anon. poster who chooses to hide in the bushes.

Well naturally I'd like to think it's a little more of the latter...

Look, here's my deal.

I've managed to last in this rough and tumble business of insurance. I've been very blessed and done well. This business is filled with charlatans - both offline AND online.

I sell nothing on this forum. I do not benefit financially from any member. I've been very unselfish giving time to folks from the forum looking for advice, ideas and information. Likewise, I have benefitted enormously from some of the ideas and posts contained in the forum.

If they're tryin' to sell you somethin', be it getting contracted, joining an association of some sort, or buying telemarketing or lead services, you've got to have a healthy level of skepticism.

Although I'm neither a socialist nor communist (actually a registered independent), my overall advice is shared in a quote from Lenin: "Who stands to gain?"

Nobody has to like, approve of, or even READ my posts, I really don't care. I simply call 'em as I see 'em...

Whether something is of any value is determined by the market. If you are over-selling and under-delivering then your business will be short lived.

Whether something is worth $20, $100, or $10,000 is up to the individual.

If agents are charged money from which there is little real value in return I guess that would plastered all over the place.

We have many forum agents as members and I'm pretty sure they are not shy. If they felt they were getting a bad deal I'm sure they'd readily post about it.

Be careful with the difference between a legitimate opinion and sour grapes. A legitimate opinion will come from someone who knows all the offerings - not from someone who knows 1/20th of what we're really doing and has zero desire to find out.

Whether something is of any value is determined by the market.

How true, how true.

But, you see, we have a slight philosophical difference.

I don't try to dictate or control what should be, how it should be, and when it should be posted. I don't expect anyone to care one iota about MY standards, expectations, morals, wants or needs or opinions.

To me it's like a free press, or freeedom of expression. The good, the bad, the true, the false, the positive, the negative, and the ugly...put it out there...

The READERS are smart enough to discern for themselves.

Let them.
