Democrats Introduce Medicare Expansion at Age 55

One of my own doctors has let me know that he appreciates all the people that I refer to him but that he no longer wants new patients on Medicare unless they were already an established patient.

Another anecdote.

I'll need to see that in writing.

From the doctor.

And notarized.:twitchy::twitchy:

I was in Newby's hometown sunday. Out by the mall there's a big new walk in clinic. Right on the front on one side it had in big letters, "Accepting new Medicaid patients". On the other side in equally big letters, "Accepting new Medicare patients".

Newby's doctor must not work there? Also Newby's doctor can not want new medicare clients all day. But he better not refuse to see a class of people just because they are on medicare.

But he will take them anyway because he wants the money. I don't want DE clients but I write them anyway because I get paid for them.

In the area where I live they have recently opened 3 new walk in family care clinics. Everyone of them has a sign out front that says they accept all insurance plans. Including Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid.

Also says, no appointments necessary.

Seems they built these new buildings on the money they don't receive from medicare.

Anecdotally anyway.

We do see these doctors socially since my wife has worked at the largest medical provider in this region for 27 years. And yes, they do whine and complain about their pay. I always tell them to just stop taking Medicare. No one makes you accept Medicare. Crickets............

Still can't accept that it's perfectly legal for a doctor to refuse new Medicare patients? No matter how much you b1tch about it and point to other doctors taking new Medicare patients it won't change the FACT that a doctor can refuse to accept new Medicare patients.

As for your example of the DE client, apples and oranges. You get paid the same amount whether they are DE or not. That isn't the case for a doctor when he/she sees a non Medicare patient versus a Medicare patient.

Keep up the good fight JD. I'm sure you will single-handedly get the law changed on behalf of all Medicare beneficiaries.

I'm glad to see doctors somehow are no longer private businesses.

Rick

Yeah, those doctors who privately owned their businesses in a shroud of an evil corporation, and savings people's lives and making boo-boo bucks suck!
But now that they, and we, are all socialists, I'm ok with it. As long as they ain't allowed to make money and don't hurt people's feelings in the process.

If the doctors didn't have a choice there would be no reason for them to advertise that they are taking new agents now would there?

Stop it with the logical thinking and deductive reasoning Todd. It's not allowed.
