Good day,

Seems like I am getting all of this at once...:)

Can anyone recommend a LTC product for someone that had a Brain Tumor removed back in 2004 and currently shows no sign of it reoccurring ?

Thanks in advance.

Mike,

Long term care insurance underwriting is very different from DI, Life, and medical insurance.

Having had a brain tumor 5 years ago would make someone uninsurable for a few LTC insurers.

What you really need to find out is:

a) history of disability benefits
b) prescriptions
c) any history of stroke or mini-stroke
d) any history of diabetes
e) any other circulatory disorders like carotid artery disease or coronary artery disease
f) Lastly, you need to find out if it was benign or if it was cancer. If it was cancer, what stage was it, how was it treated, and when was the last treatment.

The answer to all of these questions will determine which of the top 10 LTC insurers will approve this person.

Most LTC carriers have underwriting pre-qualification hotlines that you can call as well and if you give them the details on your client's health issues they will let you know if it will be a decline or which underwriting class that may fall into. Collect all the info. you can then you can call or have your FMO do the leg work for you.
