Have a client who's Medicare started July 1. He had been on Medicare disability for 1 year, and had a Humana drug plan since Jan 1 this year. Turns out the plan he has doesn't cover a new drug he now takes. Can he switch plans now, or is he locked in?

YES IEP2 Aging in after being on Social Security Disability and is now turning age 65.

Original poster doesn't mention age. His post is poorly written. How does the client have a Medicare drug plan since Jan, but is now starting Medicare 7/1? He's not explaining something correctly.

I'm assuming prior to 7.01.16, this person was a Medi-Medi enrolled in Humana LIS? New to Medicare 7.01.16?

Or just new to part B if previously was covered under some other plan. But the OP is missing a lot of pertinent information.

Reading between the lines I believe he had part A and enrolled in PDP in 2016 AEP.Enrolled in part b in GEP effective 7/1/16 .He had an ICEP for an MA that was only available for a 7/1/16 effective date.
