Does Loss of Cobra Qualify for Medicare SEP

I spoke with a potential client today who turned 65 more than 6 months ago and opted out of part b to stay on her husbands group plan. She was just informed that her husbands cobra is dropping her because she is 65. I am wondering if her loss of cobra coverage will qualify her for a special enrollment into medicare part b rather than having to wait untill next years general enrollment.

yes. Same as loss of employer coverage.

I was thinking that... The sep in that case would be 8 months starting the month after loss of coverage correct?
