There are tons of CRMs folks are using, but sometimes technology gets in the way of actually getting things done and distract from work you're getting paid to do.

If you're using a CRM, do you find it increases your sales vs the time/money you put into it?

Have you tried a CRM and found it doesn't help?

At first, while using Vtiger, it was hurting our business because it was running slow and adding tickets seemed like a pain. Then, we hired a web developer to alter the user interface and performance. We even added custom modules and it seems to be helping our business better than ever!

I think personally any agent should always go with a free CRM like Vtiger. And spend your money customizing it specifically to your own needs. CRM's should save you money by keeping you on top of customer service issues, emails, appointments, follow-ups, and of course it should tell you which leads sources are most profitable.

Having some kind of organizational system is just "good business".

For compliance/record-keeping, it's essential - particularly daily notes that are "time-stamped".

For managing out-bound communication, it certainly helps to import/export lists/contacts, emails, mail-merge, etc.

But it's true value is using it like a "getting things done" or "GTD" method where you absolutely trust the system to keep you on top of multiple cases at a time. Your memory can only do so much. If you can trust a system, and use it consistently... it can help you manage many more cases than you could relying on your memory and paper-based systems.

At least, that's true if you're doing a multiple step, multiple meeting approach.
