In order not to get the chargeback in this situation, the mb would have had to been enrolled in 1st MAPD for Oct, Nov or Dec effective and then chooses the 2nd MAPD for a Jan effective date. No chargeback would happen even for a new to Medicare Advantage situation, i.e., agent would keep the entire $482 and then get paid $255 for 2020 (as earned or lump sum depending on the carrier).
In the OP's situation, she would receive the entire $482 for 2019 since the 2nd plan would be for the Jan effective date and then $255 as earned or lump sum.
