FMO That is a Good Partner

Hello to everyone.

I have been reading and learning from this wonderful forum for years but have not posted before. I did have a question that I am hoping to get a little help with, if you don't mind.

I am an independent agent, working pretty much on my own, and would like to find a good FMO to work through on Medicare Supplements, Final Expense and other Supplemental products.

I would like a good or at least fair commission percentage and if they give leads, that would be a plus, but having worked for an FMO in the past, I know what kind of leads,"Free leads" usually are.

I have been searching for a quality FMO for which to work with. I am looking for a company that works with you and doesn't take forever to put through contracting and appointment requests with carriers. Someone who is pretty sharp and understands what agents go through on a daily basis would be great!
If they offer a CRM and other helpful tools, that goes a long way as well.

I have it narrowed down to what I think are the top 2 or 3 but am interested in who you all would say is the best to work with. The ones I am leaning towards might not be the right choice. I think the agents out there who are working the senior market would have a better idea of who is the best, than I would.

Any help or advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

George

The best thing you can do is get an open release up front signed in writing. Then you don't have to try to guess who is the best to work with. You can leave if you find you want to try someone else.

You will probably have to work with more than one as well.

Dayum George...7 1/2 years to make your 1st post! Are you shy?;)

Who are the FMO's you're leaning to? If we know, we can advise you better.

Of the regular posters on the Forum, I'd say Todd King's the closest to what you're looking for. He handles all those lines and is a straight shooter.

It's pretty hard to find an IMO that specializes in both FE and med sups. In fact, I don't know about even one that could offer training, support, contracting and leads for both and do both equally well.

I would recommend an IMO for FE and a different for med sups.

For FE I'm partial to FEX. And FEX does have med sup contracts and also now have access to med sup leads through one of the same suppliers they offer FE leads through. But their focus is not med sups.

And as someone else said, make sure whomever you go with offers releases. At least if you chose wrong you are not tied to a bad choice.

Thank you very much! I am clear as far as releases go, so pretty much open to contract with all carriers.

lol....No, not shy, but have really not been selling full time until recently!
I am talking with Agent Pipeline and Ritter Marketing. I do have a few carriers that I already have appointments with, but wanted to work through another FMO as well.

Thank you very much! It's looking like I'll be needing a few, as I have been talking to some folks who want info on annuities....I will certainly take a look at Fex....gets a bit complicated doesn't it?
The release is huge, when I was a recruiter, some FMO's would not give one, so I wasn't able to do anything to help that agent with a new contract...sad really.

Agent Pipeline and Ritter are two very good choices for Medicare. Tahoe Ray here on the forum is a great resource for annuities. We (FexContracting.com) are hard to beat on FE. There are other good ones too.

The main thing to understand is all IMOs will claim to do everything. And we all do. BUT No one is GREAT at everything. Most IMOs are not great at anything.

You are smart to spread your contracts among several IMOs. Put your Med Sups with one that is great at that. Put your annuities with one that is great at that. And put your FE with one that is great at that. There is no such thing as a great jack of all trades in this business.

But YOU need to decide what YOU are going to focus on and be great at too. The key is to put ALL your effort into one product line and put all your marketing dollars and effort into that. The cross sales that fall into your lap from marketing your key product are fine. But the bouncing around and losing focus every time you get an interesting email from a marketer is what confuses the helk out of agents when they are trying to get going.

Not sure what you mean "you are clear" as far as releases go ?

What insurance product did you recruit for ?

I think people could help you more if you shared who you feel your top 2 or 3 are ?

IMO, if you are with a good FMO you never need a release, but a good FMO will give one for good cause.

That said, Senior Marketing Specialist out of Columbia MO is the tops in all areas. Their focus is your success, not their bottom line. Their support is beyond impressive.

Premier Senior Marketing in NE is another great FMO that I use. I've needed to get one contract released on my wife when we went LLC and they were happy to grant it so we could consolidate the production under one agency contract.

Do yourself a favor and search this forum for "agent pipeline". Not in title, but in post search.

They are horrible. I'm with several FMO's and they are all great, except for Agent Pipeline.
I finallly just got released after months of waiting, but not because agent pipeline would release me, but because I had to wait 6 months of no sales to get it. They will not answer any phone calls, messages, emails etc and I'm not the only one here who has an issue.

Do yourself a favor and go with Ritter, or my personal favorite premier senior marketing

SMS out of MO is one of the FMO's I use and probably my best
