I was a Transamerica Agency Network career agent for 3 1/2 years, after being a full-service financial advisor for 14 years. I went "independent" through TAN for two months, but quickly realized that assigned commissions to UFS and still paying my former careeer agent upline was just compete nonsense and unnecessary. I am now fully independent, and significantly better off because of it. Just want to thank everyone on here for all of your discussion threads. I would not have felt confident enough to go truly independent without all of the great advice and knowledge!
