Hi everyone,

I'm interested in becoming an independent agent, with a focus on wedding and event insurance. I don't think I'm phrasing my question correctly, because is Google is not giving me what I'm looking for.

Can anyone tell where to search for information about becoming an independent agent and how it works ( like, do I need to set up my own agency, since I don't want to work for someone else?)

I do have a background in insurance as a claims adjuster and may explore becoming an independent claims adjuster. But I think selling could be a better fit.

Well first, it would be best to narrow down your niche, what your ideal customer is, and products you're going to be selling to find out who can help you. As far as where to search, the insurance forums is a great place. Just need to do a lot of reading!
