Going Captive?

I'd love to start out independent, but am beginning to believe it's too daunting a move.

Any suggestions on how to pick a company?

I was checking the MD DOI site and it looked like United teachers is pretty competitive. IF you are thinking of going captive I would look into GASB, great american senior benefits. IT would be a great start, but don't stay too long. You can actually be vested in 2 yrs for 2 yrs. Which means you would own your book of business. The number of months you work there is the number of months you are vested when you quit. Might not be a bad place for you to start.
