Google Business Listings Being Hijacked

Check your Google Business Listing

The phone number on my Google Business Listing was changed somehow. It was changed to (800) 701-5909. This number is for Freeway Insurance's health insurance line. Somehow Freeway is hijacking our listings, or Google is doing them a favor?

A quick google search shows this same number for several other agencies. It sounds like the same thing has happened to them. Hopefully it hasn't happened to you.

Hacking GMB listings is easy because the majority of businesses don't claim them (unfortunately). I found a spammer who claimed all the coffee houses in the surrounding counties I live in, and listed his coffee affiliate blog for their website. It's easy to get it back, but let it be a warning for insurance agents SECURE YOUR BRAND!
