I dont have a lot of knowledge on health insurance plans. So any advice is much appreciated.
Background:
2 Adults
Huntington Beach - CA
Currently on Anthem Select Gold PPO B.
Employer now requires us to reenrol with new plan options. (I dont know if we can keep our current)
We are expecting a child at the beginning of next year.

- Anthem Gold PPO 30/750/20% (3KGH)
- Anthem Platinum HMO 10
- Anthem Gold HMO 25
- Anthem Gold PPO 20/30%
- Kaiser Gold HMO 0/30 + Child Dental
- Kaiser Plantinum 90 HMO 0/15 + Child Dental
We are expecting a child at the beginning of next year.
Questions:
- What would be the best option out of the above during and after pregnancy?
- The Platinum has the lowest max out of pocket and is the highest monthly payment. (does this mean its good or is it limited in care?)
- We plan to travel out of state soon for a month. Is it bad to be HMO?
- I understand HMO means it must be within network but does that mean you dont get the best care and best options if the baby needed special care?
