I should know this, but I'm unsure what to do.

Have a prospective client who has Medicare Part A, and a Group Health Plan, which includes a lousy Prescription Drug option.

I do know that to obtain/enroll in a PDP, all you need to have is Medicare Part A. My question is, would this knock her out of her current plan?

Again, I should know, but need some verification as to what to do.

Actually, you shouldn't know this. Only such a question posed to her benefits office with the employer will know.

When you say "lousy", is her current Rx plan through her employer less than the standard set by the federal goberment for Medicare Part D(creditable)?

Unless her current plan is a group retiree program, they will coordinate benefits.

it depends on whether or not the drug option on her group is creditable coverage, I would have her talk to her HR rep and find out before doing anything.
