Health Insurance for FE Agents?

If it was a free market I wouldn't care what employers offered. They could pay the employees house payment if they want to. But once the government starts requiring employers to pay health insurance the system is broken.

It's been broke a long time and Obama just made it worse.

I'm thankful that I stayed in the military long enough to retire. I only pay $45.00 per month for TRICARE for me and the family. Anyone can join the reserve's these days and get TRICARE for themselves AND their entire family for a couple hundred bucks per month.

That's a lot to risk just to get better health insurance. I know many reservists who served tours in the middle east. I do appreciate your service btw.

My brother-in-law has Tricare. He and my sister have been told by several providers that Tri-Care is substandard under the ACA. They pay out of pocket now when they see their primary care physician.

Tons of Army and Marine reservists are currently deployed and/or getting ready to be deployed. I wish they'd bring them all home. Not sure this is a winnable battle and we've lost so many people already.
Thank You for your service.

Back to the original question, so the only choices for a self employed agent are Obamacare with huge premiums and deductibles if you have a pre-existing condition and the Christian organization if you don't?

It's open enrollment. You can buy the exchange.

Yes, but the premiums are very high, and the deductibles are too. I'm 61 and my wife is 60. Our quote was $1500 a month for a decent plan.

I certainly did not vote for the socialist in chief. I liked Herman, but he let the bimbos scare him off. I would be thrilled to vote for Dr. Carson. But never a socialist. Even Obummer admitted that the ACA is just a stepping stone to single payer, the great dream of all socialists.

Such is life. If you qualify for a discount go through the exchange and find the lowest deductible plan you can..I guess. I didn't look in the exchange...my health insurance agent guided me...thanks Bob!
