PETS BEST INSURANCE GOES INTERNATIONAL - LAUNCHING PETS BEST INSURANCE JAPAN

January 30, 2008, (Boise, ID) Today announced the launch of their brand of pet insurance in Japan. Pets Best founders, Greg McDonald and Jack Stephens DVM, along with Pets Best Japan founder Mr. Iwao Nonaga signed pen agreements and to met with media about this expansion of pet health insurance from the United States to another country.

Although, several European pet insurance companies have expanded outside their countries borders, this marks a first for a leading pet insurance provider in the United States to expand its technology, business processes and brand outside the United States.

Pets are booming in Japan, where with a declining human birth rate pets are becoming part of the family. There are over 25 million dogs and cats in Japan and pets according to a survey of Japanese pet owners, pets are considered friends and provide spiritual support. Just as in the United States and Europe, the rise in value and stature of pets increases the utilization of veterinary care, resulting in greater need for pet insurance. Pets once considered only objects, were changed by legislation in 2004 as objects with life, an important distinction in Japanese culture. Pets fulfill a needed role in Japanese society, just as in the United States by reducing stress, providing companionship, improving “good feeling” hormones and bringing joy to families.

Pets Best Insurance Provides Free Consultation for All Pets with Cancer

Pets Best Insurance National Oncology Initiative is provided for all dogs and cats with cancer and does not require insurance

BOISE, ID – October 25, 2007 – Pets Best Insurance has created a national oncology initiative with Oncura Partners, a national pet cancer specialty service. Together Pets Best and Oncura Partners are underwriting and offering a no-cost consultations for all pets in the United States with cancer. Pet families need not have Pets Best Insurance, but they must have the consultation requested through their veterinarian. Families will receive this valuable initial consultation at no cost with a pet Oncologist (cancer specialist) for their pet with any form of Cancer.

According to Alice Villalobos, a pioneer in pet cancer medicine and author, “Half the Population of Dogs and Cats Aged 10 and over will Die of Cancer. The bonds that clients have developed with their older pets are especially strong and drive the increasing demand for more proficient and highly compassionate medical treatment of companion animals diagnosed with cancer. We applaud this important effort by Pets Best and Oncura Partners. Making treatments for cancer more accessible will certainly save a great deal of grief for many pet families and certainly extend the lives of many, many pets.”

Pets Best Insurance wants every pet owner to know that cancer treatments in pets can be safe with few or no side affects and may provide long lasting or complete remission. The KEY to successful cancer treatment is an early diagnosis and effective treatment regime. All too often a qualified cancer specialist is not available locally and this may cause pet owners and their local veterinarians to not seek treatment. In addition the cost may be high and the travel time for treatments may be prohibitive for pet owners.

Shouldn't this post belong in the "offers" section? I guess it's not technically spam but certainly close.

I'd like to sell pet insurance but TTBOMK in CA you have to have a P&C license... and I really don't want to go to all that work (it's not slam-dunk in CA) just to sell this one item. I can't imagine why the state does not let both licenses sell it.

    Al,

How would I find out which licenses can sell pet insurance here in MO and KS. I never thought about restrictions on that until I saw your comment.

    Thanks.

Gosh, I didn't know that people lived in Idaho. Seriously, the plan looks very good, but as in most states I believe PA requires a P&C license to sell it inasmuch as pets are deemed property. I think the Japanese may be ahead of us on that one.

It should require a health license since this is pet health related. I guess they consider pets property. I consider my wife and kids property. Can I get a policy on them. snicker, snicker.
