Just got a call from someone who was depending on spouse to keep insurance going, lost track of it during her illness, now waking up to, hey, we need insurance. Had kept a grandfathered plan, but that's gone now.
Quoted UH1 who only does 184 day coverage, with, I assume back to back capability, but with loss of any claim carry over from one term to another. There seem to be carriers out there who could carry this family to either the employer renewal 12/1/16, or to 2016 ACA open enrollment, to 12/31/16.
Any suggestions? Standard Life seems to go longer than 6 months. Some carriers can appoint quickly, others not so much.
