Help Needed with Ltc W/ Autism

Have a parent that wants to find out and set up ltc for child with autism and behavioral disorder. 24yrs old and currently in a facility in florida covered by parents health insurance. She is planning to retire so wont have work insurance to pay for facility. So interested in ltc. Never did ltc. Will ltc cover residential facilitiy for autistic child with behvioral disorder.

she cannot buy any LTC insurance for him.

You might want to suggest to the parent that she should drop her son from her health insurance and have him apply for Medicaid. Medicaid will pay for his care.

You also might suggest that she see an elder law attorney.

Special Needs Trust may be applicable here...or hopefully already one in place
