Hiring Telemarketers...Pay Per Lead or Hour?

We are using a telemarketer to provide small group health leads to us. We pay our person $12 an hour. So far, so good but we are concerned that the person is not working all hours billed. We are also comteplating bringing on additional telemarketers.

How do most of you pay your telemarketers? Per lead? Per hour? Where do you find your telemarketers?

You may want to go with a combo - base + $ per lead/appointment. I think your base pay is way too high (imho). Give them something to work toward.

Pay per lead unless you are specifically in control of the person being paid hourly.
