HO-3 for Townhouse w/ Cedar Shake Roof (Palm Beach County)

The roof is 13 years old and hip.

That's a cool roof, Daddio. It's hip, not square.

(Geez, I'm showing my age.)

Anyway, ask your carriers. If they don't want it you'll have to send your prospect down the road or try to write him through E&S brokers.

If he's already with a standard or preferred carrier I doubt that he'll like the prices from the E&S market.

Wood Shakes are tuff to write, especially in wiildfire zones. And here in California I still get them. Believe it or not people near wildlands still put roofs made of wood on their house!

The market in FL is so different, I could not advise you on the carriers.

One word of wisdom, is to confirm its actually a true wood shake roof and not a immintation wood shake roof. I know you think I wouldn't make that mistake, but some clients missreport it to agents.

In addition I have found that newer [perhaps less than 10 years] wood shakes are more apt to get accepted than a remotely old wood shake roof.
