HOA As an Additional Insured

I did a quick search and I dont really have time to browse the entire forum. Im sure someone on here has had these issues. Currently have a townhome we wrote and the HOA is wanting to be listed as an additional insured. We have pretty much no companies that will do this. Of course we hear from the HOA and realtor that "the other guys did it" which i'm assuming the other guys just did a certificate of insurance showing the HOA as an additional insured. We only have a few HOAs in this area...

Anyone run into this issue often?

Yup. Don't do it, but take the opportunity to sell GL/UM/D&O to the HOA. I have a bunch of these on our books.

Make sure to add generous loss assessment coverage on your insured's condo/townhome policy.
