Home & Auto Discount Percentage?

I dropped Nationwide Auto coverage last year, kept the homeowners'. Just got the Homeowners' renewal, went from $9xx to $14xx. CSR said because of home & car discount. Is that the usual discount?

ask ur nationwide agent. Was the annual auto savings greater than the lost home discount?

The discount varies a lot by carrier and even by state with the same carrier, but 15-30% discount is pretty common. You are close to 30%, so it likely has a slight rate increase as well.

As "The Colonel" said, you need to ask yourself if moving the auto insurance really made sense.... or shop the home policy.

Travelers discounts the home by 30% when they write the auto. Move the home.
