How Do YOU Use SugarCRM?

I just blew a ton of time setting up sugar and importing my leads. Now I find out that the calls/phoning interface is atrociously slow and cumbersome. I want to be able to open up a call, take my notes, then select whether or not there will be a followup call with one click, select the follow up date with 2 clicks if applicable, then one more click to be at the next call and have all my next lead's info in front of me. Is this feasible with sugar? How do you guys do it?
